Kathrine Udell graduated from Georgia Tech in December 2019 with a BSc in Earth and Atmospheric Science. Her research interests include planetary analogues, ice processes, geomorphology, and remote sensing. During her time at Georgia Tech she worked as an undergraduate research assistant utilizing remote sensing data to observe fracturing, calving, and hydrological changes in Greenland’s tidewater glaciers. Once she graduated, she continued to work in the lab and wrote a first authored paper on this topic which is currently in the process of being submitted. At the same time, she worked on data for Europa, Mars, and pingos in the high arctic using a mixture of analysis tools and some machine learning. These projects have given her various research skills and exposure to a wide range of planetary surface processes which she hopes to further develop in graduate school.
